Gregory Mark

Year working: 1963 -

Herewith the information on Mark Gregory as submitted in his own words…………………………………………………………… I can honestly say that i have had an avid interest in cars and scooters for as long as i can remember, in particular those glorious looking cars from the Golden Age of the 1920's-1930's, everyday hot rods and customs and not forgetting the infamous MOD Lambretta's from the 1960's with all their mirrors and lights. It was this overseeing passion, along with my natural talent for drawing, that led me to taking up automotive art in my spare time. From my late teen years right through to the present day I have not only enjoyed owning some nice examples myself but have also enjoyed meeting up with other car/scooter enthusiasts at many shows across the UK. My first ever vehicle was a Vespa Scooter and then like many others of my era i then moved onto a mini, followed by a number of old Classic Fords before progressing onto modern day Jaguars. I have a passion for Motorsport due to living so close to the historic Brands Hatch circuit in Kent for many years and I continue to this day to attend many events here every year and across the UK such as those at the historic Brooklands Circuit, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Silverstone Classic. A few years ago I decided to take my sincere love of cars and scooters and incorporate that into my passion for drawing and painting so I initially undertook commissioned work for friends and relatives which then led onto doing other further related commissions. Working from my art studio in the garden (got to start somewhere!) I am completely self taught and now enjoy specialising in automotive artwork using pen drawings whilst incorporating a hint of colour using watercolours or marker pens. I have never been to art school or even inherited this creativity from my parents, it just seems that this natural talent of picking up a pen or brush just seemed second nature to me. I mainly work from photographic reference material which I either take myself or ones that clients send in via email or post. Commissions for specific subjects are always very welcomed whether it be a gift for yourself or for someone special. Whatever your reason I am happy to produce work in a size and cost to suit you. If you would like a commission undertaken simply contact me and i'll be more than happy to discuss any requirements and prices.
